Visiting Pope John Paul II High School

popejphs1Pope John Paul II High School incorporates an innovative program into the student experience: Innov8. Innov8 provides an opportunity during the school day for students to explore their interests with teachers who are experts in their field. The Pope John Paul II High School Innov8 classes provide a challenging and supportive environment where trial and error are encour­aged, students develop skills through practice and where they are inspired to take risks in their learning. The Innov8 program offers a stimulating environment where students are mentored through projects that will have a lasting impact on themselves and the greater school community.

Some of the courses that are offered through the Innov8Popejphs2 program are:

  • Computer Coding
  • Robotics
  • Digital Storytelling and Animation
  • Mastering Diplomacy and Debate
  • Documentary Filmmaking
  • Non-profit/community organizing
  • Alternative Energies

All courses are product or project based, and juniors and seniors have the chance to apply for internships, which allow students to explore career interests and make connections with professionals in the community.
