These lesson plans were created by the summer 2019 cohort of the Manufacturing and Engineering Externship Program. Each participant spent a week with a local manufacturing or engineering focused organization and learned about the STEM skills and habits embedded within the workplace. They then developed a PBL unit to expose students to a challenge the organization was facing or address a future focus of the organization’s work. All lesson plans are aligned to Tennessee standards and encourage students to explore the engineering design process.
